2 Ways to Wear Velvet Blazers

Elevated or casual, you won’t go wrong investing in a velvet blazer…ever. Proof is in my outfits below. The black blazer from The Gap is the oldie but goodie (purchased 8 years ago!) and had a few seam repairs over the years. The red tuxedo blazer is from the Altuzarra x Target collection from almost 2 years ago and always gets compliments. Notice I said “it” gets compliments, not me. Kudos to Altuzarra.

I’m only touching upon a few options on how to wear these blazers in this article. I love that velvet has made a resurgence yet again. It’s a luxe fabric that is timeless and never goes out of style. What I enjoy seeing this season is how accessory brands are incorporating velvet into shoes and bags. I have yet to purchase a velvet shoe but getting ready to, at least one heel and one ankle boot.

Which leads into my Savvy Style Tip of the Day – incorporate a seasonal trend into your wardrobe by adding one accessory and one clothing item. Make sure when you buy these pieces to think about what you have in your existing wardrobe. Can you create at least 3 different outfits with these new additions? If so, then you’ve made the right choice.

Need more style inspo? Here are a few other ways I’ve styled blazers, see HERE and HERE.
