How to Enjoy your Delays at the Airport

A new thing I’ve started doing when my flight is delayed is getting a day pass at a fancy flight club. Listen, I rack up enough miles to join these things but don’t always have time to partake but if you’re delayed more than 2 hours you can’t beat the deal! Here’s the thing, day passes are about $50-$65 depending on the airline and they get you out of the riff raff, you know…away from the schmucks that want to talk to you at the terminal bar.

Inside these airline lounges you get peace, free snacks or meals depending on the club, all you can drink beer and wine, free WiFi and the occasional run in with a successful hot businessman. An amazing way to meet successful guys single ladies! Your average, middle of the road man would never pay for these amenities, so chances are the men you meet in here are good catches, well, unless they’re already caught.

After calculating your sanity, billable hours from emails you returned, the amount of free food and high-end booze you consumed, and maybe the potential date you snagged….the $50 is certainly worth it. You’d spend that anyway at the airport bar avoiding a conversation with a guy from St. Louis who can’t stop taking about how all the pretty girls live in California. Not that I have anything against St. Louis, just sayin’. Go ahead, treat yourself and always go first class.
