When I looked up the definition for “ombré” – I discovered there’s two meanings. Used as a noun and spelled “ombre” it was an old three-handed card game popular in Europe especially in the 17th and 18th centuries. Used as an adjective and spelled “ombré” is having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark. There you have it, a little word savvy for the day. With this outfit of the day, I started with the ombré fringed dress I bought from Zara last summer (my sister actually found it stuffed in some random rack and I believe was on sale for $19.95). The dress was my inspiration piece that I used to style around, pairing my new Paige Lenny zip denim jacket and my circa 2006 Dior suede boots. Savvy Style Tip: when going boho or hippie chic, don’t take it literally, meaning to where it looks more like a costume. Use one piece that’s boho/hippieish and then add modern pieces to your overall look.
