DAY 365: Shop My Closet Challenge Finale

Mood: Emotional

Weather: Sunny & Hot in San Diego

Outfit Purpose: Last Day of my Challenge

Style Savvy: I know most of you were probably expecting some crazy ball gown for my last day of this challenge. Sorry to disappoint. I decided today was a good day to rock out in black and gold. I also wanted to wear key pieces in keeping with my “savvy” style so I opted for my fave black pencil skirt, fave studded Zara ankle boots, striped La Rok crop top and Of Mercer blazer.

Personal Style: Savvynista Style

What’s Going On: This is my last entry for this column of Shopping My Closet 365 Days. First of all I want to thank my family and friends for all the love and support for the past year. My gals had my back every minute of everyday from the Westside of LA to the shoreline of San Diego. You know who you all are! I wouldn’t have made it without you!

A special thanks to my main photographer or as she likes to say “camera operator” … my mom. She’s been my rock, my cheerleader, my manager, my alarm clock, a pain in my side (sometimes) but overall she’s been my mommy. This wouldn’t have been possible without her unconditional love and support. I love you.

I also need to give a special thanks to my sister and nephew for standing in as my camera operators and also helping me out when I needed it. They are the loves of my life and super grateful that I now live close by to spend time with them whenever I want.

I’ve learned many lessons and the value of love, relationships, family and friends throughout this challenge even more so than before. I also proved to myself that I can make my life whatever I want it to be from a bad situation, a life smacking change, a divorce, a few losses and going broke from heartbreak. If you set your mind to it, you can turn your life around and be happy.

Throughout this challenge not only was I healing but I was starting a completely new life in a new city. I went from only knowing two people to many wonderful people in San Diego. I also filmed a reality show The Romance (not yet aired), became a regular style correspondent on the news, writing a book about this challenge, styling fashion editorials for magazines, had a few romances to being in a new relationship and a few other amazing projects coming up in the next few months.

Last but not least, THANKS to all my readers and followers! You have kept me going when I wanted to stop. All of you from the US to Germany, Japan, Australia, South America and beyond. I’m touched and grateful.

  1. Hey!! I just wanted to say good job on completing the challenge! I have not been with you throughout the journey but its very inspiring. I am actually starting a “My closet challenge” which is similar to your challenge although not exactly the same. In fact, I just searched my close challenge on google after i decided to do this and set up my blog, just to see if anyone else had done something similar.
Its very inspiring that you completed the challenge!! I gives me hope that I will complete mine 🙂
