DAY 38: Shop My Closet Girly Chic

Mood: Exposed

Weather: Warmer than usual, sunny Cali weather

Outfit Purpose: I always get asked by clients and friends what they should wear as a guest for a daytime wedding or a luncheon. Although I like pairing separates sometimes it makes sense to find a dress. I typically don’t do uber feminine girly dresses but I couldn’t resist this pink with a hint of metallic floral brocade A-line dress by Single Dresses. This dress instantly puts a smile on my face and makes me feel 10-20 years younger. I paired it with my lace overlay Christian Louboutin kitten heels circa 2007 and vintage inspired Cartier necklace.

Style Savvy: Wedding Guest, Luncheon, Cocktail Party

Personal Style: Feminine Girly Chic

What’s Going On With Me: I’m still in L.A. with SD Guy and made a stop at The Park Showroom to pull a few items for an event. I also got to catch up with my PR Gal at Media Play PR. Because the weather was leaning more on the hot side than the warm breezy side, we wanted to hit somewhere with AC. The Beverly Center seemed to be convenient and I haven’t been there in awhile.

The only new store I almost passed out in was the Saint Laurent store. As soon as I walked in I just died. I’m super obsessed with this deep berry structured bag (I took a pic of it in Barneys NY last week on my Instagram @Savvynista). One of the sales guys opened up his fave jewelry drawer to show me these amazing pieces. My heart was racing. Of course he played into my obsession and kept showing me things he knew I would drool over and it worked. I seriously left the store feeling like I had an orgasm. It was too good.

Thoughts: Don’t be a martyr because it really doesn’t serve you or anyone around you. I use to portray this perfect outside image of what I thought people wanted to see and come off as “I can take anything” or “do it all myself” that I didn’t need any help. I realized that it just made me feel alone, helpless and that nobody cared. Today I ask for help. I let people in. I’m honest with where I’m at and not only do I receive the help I need for that moment whether emotional support or actual project help, I know I’m not alone and people do care.
