Style Savvy: Fall is approaching and I’m happy that I can pull out some fall pieces from my closet. I paired this uber soft, cotton Prêt-à-Porter top with one of my fave wrap skirts by Suzanne Lay adding extra details and texture to my look with my classic vintage Louis Vuitton clutch, vintage necklace, Moroccan chain tassle bracelet, Michael Kors rose gold watch and Shoemint ankle strap heels.

What’s Going On With Me: Today’s blog calls for this section to give you a little back story to the photos. I attended the fall fashion show at Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego and brought my sister (also my hairstylist). Before we left, I had my 9-year old nephew take my outfit photos for me. He’s a natural! I walked him through the camera only once and voila, great snaps! When my sis and I got to Fashion Valley we checked in, chatted, got our photo snapped by other media there and watched the show. I look forward to seeing what San Diego Fashion Week has to offer next month.
Thoughts: This young guy working in Macy’s stopped me and asked about the fashion show tonight and what I do. He said he’s trying to start a freelance career as a wardrobe stylist. He asked if I had any tips. I told him it helps to know people, he needs to network, put himself out there, promote himself, etc. He replied,”But if you’re good enough does that matter?” Ummm, YES! There are so many people trying to do everything these days, if you just sit back expecting people to discover you, that’s never going to happen. That I know for a fact.
