I’m always talking and writing about how to be savvy with style and shopping because that’s what most of us want to know right? Even my clients who have a big shopping budget still want to know how to maximize their pieces/investments. This goes for any budget. Why purchase a one-hit-wonder? When I show a client how to take one piece from day-to-night-to-weekend-to-etc, it’s rewarding to see eyes light up and a smile grow.
There’s no secret styling trick, the KEY is accessories and pairing with different pieces you already own (shop your closet ladies). But mainly accessories. Did you get that? ACCESSORIES. Oh and hair/makeup helps.
For my daytime casual look, I paired my Banana Republic floral silk pant with a loose fitting button down, leather criss cross sandals, Mar y Sol straw tote, beaded tassel necklace and aviator sunglasses. No fuss hair, light makeup, sunscreen and natural lip to finish off my ensemble.
For my date night look, I paired my BR pant with a dressier white blouse, white blazer, gold choker necklace, rose gold chain bracelet, gold basketweave clutch bag, gold heels and classic Wayfarer shades. Hair with a slight wave, heavier makeup and a red lip. I actually wore this outfit to a dinner date with my fiancé at one of my fave restaurants Piatta located in La Jolla Shores.
As you can see, I took a “foundation piece” (BR floral pant) and styled around it to create a day and night outfit. Not seen is when I paired this pant with a white cotton tee, denim jacket, gladiator sandals and top knot for strolling around on the weekend.
