For those of you who don’t know about Magic Market Week in Las Vegas, it’s one of the largest West Coast fashion trade shows in the US. Typically held for buyers and retailers, this event has attracted a lot of press and fashion bloggers as well. Being a member of Two Point Oh! LA granted me access to the entire event for the week (thanks Kelsi for starting this fab group). Although I had appointments and a schedule mapped out for Magic, I had no clue as to what angle my story would take until now as I sifted through all my photos. You know I love clothing and pairing interesting pieces together but this show, for me at least, was all about the SHOES!
My Instagram (@savvynista) shots from packing the essentials, outfits I’ll be wearing, my arrival at the family Penthouse with a view of Bellagio’s water fountain show, unpacking in my Paige Paloma leather leggings & Prabal Gurung for Target heels, and a late night meal at The Henry in the Cosmopolitan Hotel.
The first day of Magic Market Week at Las Vegas Convention Center. I showed up around 9:30 am thank goodness there was a Starbucks right as I entered the South hall for FN Platform which is where all the shoe brands were showcasing their collections. Over at the North hall, a bit of a hike in my Prabal Gurung for Target heels, housed clothing lines, panel discussions & interviews with brands and fashion shows. I have to give a shout out to my dear friend James of James Campbell Productions who produced the shows this year for WWD Magic. Congrats my love!
So how’s this…I’m the sample shoe size of the show, a size 6. What does that mean? I got to try on every single shoe that I wanted and I think I got a shoe modeling job for next year out of it. How wild is that?! These yellow suede fringe heels put a huge smile on my face as you can see in the photo above AND they are just what I need to accompany my spring/summer wardrobe.
SHOES, SHOES and more SHOES!!! I had shoegasms all day long! From top left to right Luichiny, Diba True, Prabal Gurung for Target, Pour La Victoire, Boutique 9, Kelsi Dagger, Boutique 9 (crystal panther head ankle strap TO DIE OMG!!).
Design your own Havaianas flip flops … super fun!
Second day at Magic Market Week. I chatted with super sweet Kristin Cavallari to find out her shoe collection inspiration for Chinese Laundry.
From top left to right: Hipsters for Sisters newest belt bag collection, Pour La Victoire cobalt blue tote, Boutique 9 cupcake/shoe table display, Yeardley Smith (yes Lisa Simpson) has a shoe line Marchez Vouz, trend forecasting wall with Pantone colors, Ask Alice ankle bootie, Dogeared newest collection Chinese zodiac, Year of the Snake installation at Bellagio Hotel.
What I wore on my second day of the trade show –  Zara blazer, Dame top, Prabal Gurung for Target skirt and heels.
Some of these booths had actual reception desks with security. Thank goodness I had a press pass otherwise I would’ve been “shoed” away. Ha, ha, get it! Corny but couldn’t resist. As I was walking in, Mr. Sam Edelman himself was walking out. At least I got to check out his fall 2013 collection. I swear I saw at least 10 pairs, if not more, that I would wear this minute. Although I walked away without a pair of Sam Edelman shoes, I got a free signed iPhone case.
Thanks doll! LV was great and now we have LAFW, xo
