Spring Trend: Eyelet Dresses

Here’s to the weekend and sunny weather we’re enjoying in San Diego, making it feel like Spring already. One fabric embroidery that allows the ocean breeze to flow through tiny holes and cool you off is EYELET. I’m not sure why eyelet is a trend, I consider it a timeless classic in fabric detail. It’s feminine, romantic and playful and keeps getting updated decade after decade. Whether you try this in a dress, top or skirt you’ll never go wrong investing in Eyelet, especially in white.

Eyelet is often referred to as open work and cutwork lace. It was originated during the 1700’s and in 1782 Luigi Ruffini an Italian trader and specialist in fine Saxon embroidery traveled to Edinburgh and introduced this white embroidery.

Savvy Style Tip: If you wear white eyelet, pair accessories in on-trend colors like pale pink, coral pink, canary yellow or olive green. Wear an eyelet piece in one of these Spring colors and get extra style points. Have a super weekend! XO
