Style at Del Mar Race Track

I’m not a gambling kind of gal but for some reason I’m pretty lucky with the horses – as in betting at the race track. I don’t have any rules or science to my method, I go by instinct and few other variables. I also like to watch the horses in the paddock before they head to the gate which helps me decide on my final bets.

I had the pleasure of spending two days at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club on Sunday, August 24 for Del Mar’s signature race, the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic and also on Wednesday, August 27. The highlight was the Pacific Classic on Sunday which encapsulated the spirit, thrill and grit that lie at the core of elite Thoroughbred horse racing. It was a packed house and for racetrack enthusiasts who missed out on the Opening Day extravaganza, Pacific Classic was the next best thing. Many women and men had their “Sunday Best” on for one of the biggest races of the summer.

Savvy Style Tip for the ladies: wear wedges or flat sandals, no heels even chunky if you’re planning on spending time in the paddock or walking around. For men and women, wear sun protection and a hat that covers your face. Now that’s a bet you can count on!
