How to Style a Gingham Top

One of the biggest summer trends this year are gingham tops in all color combos. The most striking color combo I’ve seen is a teal and white print. Since I have a lot of color in my closet, I decided to add a black and white gingham top to my wardrobe for more style flexibility.

Gingham is a classic print originating from the 17th century. It started as a striped pattern and in the 18th century evolved into a checkered fabric. Gingham became a style trend when Bridget Bardot wore a pink and white gingham dress for her wedding.

Savvy Style Tip: Keep your gingham looks fresh this summer buy pairing white denim bottoms (cropped jeans, skirt or shorts) instead of blue or black denim washes.
