February is known for the month of love due to Valentine’s Day. I believe that love should be celebrated however you choose. Whether it’s with an S.O., girlfriend, a group of friends, your sibling, etc. Whoever you love, even your pet if you want. This month is also national heart health month and the American Heart Association promotes heart awareness by asking everyone to wear red. You might have seen Go Red campaigns and that’s what it’s about.
I recently cohosted a CBS morning news segment (watch HERE) on behalf of Go Red and Macy’s. I love doing this segment every year to support the Go Red campaign especially because my father died from heart disease. With that said, the rest of this month, I’m showing you savvy ways to wear color combinations of red, pink and lilac.
Today’s look is an outfit I literally wore all day. I especially love that my Velvet Heart Clothing printed heart top is a classic button down. You can wear this top for work, play or casually. It’s versatile and hearts should be worn anytime of the year!
For a vintage flair, I decided to pair my pale pink corduroy Urban Outfitters pants. To round out my look, I slipped on my velvet red Mango kitten heels (similar HERE and HERE).
Savvy Style Tip: When pairing reds and pinks, try to find pieces with texture or interesting details. Also to make your look cohesive, pair brighter reds with brighter pinks, paler reds with paler pinks. If you keep close to the same color hues, your outfit will look more expensive and polished.
