Outfit Purpose: Out & About while traveling
Style Savvy: Planning outfits for traveling to a tropical destination is typically easy. Well for me it is. It usually consists of flowy short & long dresses, tunics, shorts, tanks, a few chic tropézienne style sandals, ankle strap espadrille wedges and my Panama hat. Today’s outfit is fairly simple with this Ikat print Kaya di Koko dress accessorized with my Saks Fifth Avenue Panama hat and ShoeMint high heels. If you plan vacationing in tropical weather, find pieces that have interesting prints and details to keep accessorizing and pairing other pieces to a minimum.
Personal Style: Resort Chic
Thoughts: It’s not easy to live a balanced day of emotional serenity. I try to live in the moment so that I can be fairly at peace throughout my day but fear creeps in sometimes and then I want to clam up and isolate. Thank goodness I practice contrary action so when I start to feel like closing up or shutting down, I do the opposite. It’s hard. It takes practice, years of practice actually. Since I’ve been on vacation, I feel my heart opening up. I’m just rolling with it and not overthinking or over analyzing anything. Yes, it’s wise to be cautious, especially when cultivating new friendships and/or relationships but I also want to be open and experience what the day has to present. Life is too short not to. I’m willing to take the risk of living life with my heart open regardless of what the outcome will be.
