Mood: Revived
Weather: Partially rainy
Outfit Purpose: Weekend Play
Style Savvy: This outfit is reminiscent of The Pink Ladies in the movie Grease. Many fashionistas are donning the bra-let or half top with high waisted bottoms whether it be a full midi-skirt, pants, shorts or pencil skirt. I say, if you can get away with wearing this style, then go for it! I prefer to cover up the top with a jacket, blazer or cardigan. Since I’m wearing all black, I added pops of color with my accessories. This is a savvy way to make all black work for Spring.
Personal Style: Rocker Chic
What’s Going On: I felt like I was in labor all week and last night I finally gave birth, metaphorically that is – to all the emotions, feelings, situations, changes … everything that has transpired in my life since starting this Shop My Closet Challenge. I know I’ve had moments in the recent past months where I’ve surrendered but this time, I’ve really surrendered and let go of everything. I released all this negative energy that I held onto for so many reasons starting with fear and denial. It’s somewhat the same feeling that my personal style clients get when I do a Closet Edit. That’s when I go through their entire wardrobe and help purge items they don’t need or can’t wear anymore, show how to restyle different pieces and make a list of key items they are missing from their wardrobe. It’s an emotional process and takes time but it’s freeing. I feel like I did a Closet Edit internally for myself.
I remember the first 4 months of this challenge I looked forward to Mondays because I couldn’t wait to get my week started. That dissepated but now has returned again. It’s refreshing and I’m ready to rock-n-roll.
