One of my all time favorite shows is Sex and the City. I was that young 20 something year old starting my life when the series first aired. Every week I looked forward to 30 minutes of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Not just their storylines but also their outfits.
Patricia Fields, the wizard of wardrobing this show created so many memorable looks. I loved how she mixed vintage with new, high with low, street with designer. She’s brilliant. I probably relate to Carrie’s style the most but I can see myself in a few Samantha looks.
Sex and the City celebrated its 20 year anniversary this month. I honestly can’t believe it’s been that long since the first episode. Sigh … I’m old. Well, older. Since this show was my fashion magazine and inspired me to purchase a few iconic designer pieces back then, I thought I would break them out and show how I’m styling them today.
These pieces are accessories because I always believe in investing in shoes, handbags and jewelry. BTW, I still catch reruns of SATC. This show never gets old for me. I especially relate to the last few seasons and the first movie, you know, because of my age and all. LOL.
Did this show inspire you in some way? Whether style, relationships or career? Let me know.
In other news, Instagram just launched IGTV. You can now create your own video channel on Instagram and record up to 10 minutes (larger accounts up to an hour). Expect to see more video content from me about beauty and skincare on my IGTV @savvynista.
