Outfit Purpose: Weekend Outing
Style Savvy: Since it’s been somewhat summer-ish still in San Diego, I’ve had to get creative with my outfits. I wanted to wear autumn colors and some Fall pieces but don’t want to overheat so this outfit for today is a perfect blend. I paired my army green Punk Royal shorts with a burnt orange sweater by NEUW (Australian brand) and tied my whole look together with some stand out accessories – Safia Day necklace, Timex classic watch, ShoeMint suede boots.
Personal Style: SoCal Autumn
Thoughts: When I’m choosing what to wear for the day, I usually go with one of these to depict my outfit: 1) what mood I’m in 2) if I want to change the mood I’m in -or- 3) do I feel or look bloated. Today I’m longing for some familiarity in my life. Fall colors and fabrics feel cozy and warm which provides some sense of comfort, hence my outfit for today. I’ve been meeting a lot of new people lately while living in a new city. I still feel displaced. I wish I could just walk out my door and walk down to Third Street Promenade and grab a bite at Tender Greens. That was a regular thing for me when I lived in Santa Monica with my now ex-husband.
I have my core group of girlfriends that I speak with almost daily and see every 2 weeks in L.A. but it’s not the same. Overall, I’m doing great – just missing and longing some familiar people, places and things … that’s all. I’m planning to jet off to a tropical destination soon and get some cozy comfort time there which will be nice. Once I know my schedule for the first few weeks of November then I’m off like a prom dress. That’s where I’m at today.
