Mood: At Ease
Weather: Super sunny & warm
Outfit Purpose: Out & About, Fashion Blogger
Style Savvy: A peplum top is a staple piece every woman should have in her wardrobe. I love playing with color combinations especially when I can mix coral/poppy with turquoise/blues. Today this color combo was apropos for the event I was asked to be a part of. I paired my Intermix poppy peplum top with my Paige Denim waxed jeans and 3.1 Phillip Lim d’orsay heels. I kept my accessories light because I knew I would be changing out of my outfit for this event. Any figure can pull off a peplum top, just be sure where the peplum seam hits, it’s right at your waistline and snug fitting (not too snug though).

What’s Going On With Me: I woke up feeling much better than yesterday, thank goodness. I needed to rally for the day because I had a fashion blogger event at the Fashion Valley Old Navy Store in San Diego. I really didn’t know what to expect at this event. When I arrived, the manager Kyle gave the eight fashion bloggers in attendance the run down for the night. We had to style at least 3 different looks on ourselves and then style customers. As a stylist, it’s always fun for me to pull pieces and see how creative I can get especially with colors and prints. It’s even more fun when a stranger (customer) will let me style them and trust that I’ll make them look fabulous. I had a blast and got to meet other San Diego fashion bloggers. Thanks to my sister for being my photog, the Old Navy staff and their “sellebrities” for an amazing time!
Thoughts: The past is the past, stay present. I use to clutter my brain with the “what if’s” or “if I had only done” thoughts but what’s the point? If an event has already occurred in your life, then it’s done and over with. There is no changing it so why drive yourself crazy thinking of all sorts of scenarios you could’ve done differently? Make a mental note, use that experience as information for the next time something similar comes up. That’s when you can do it differently.

LOOK #1 to pull off print pairing, make sure one of the separates has less graphics like this sheer navy top.
LOOK #2 same concept with print pairing as look 1 but this time I used a scarf as a turban.
LOOK #3 I love using a denim shirt over dresses, tanks and tees instead of a cardigan or denim jacket. This gives a more casual summer vibe.
