DAY 189: Shop My Closet Weekend Play

Mood: Open

Weather: Sunny, warmish, chilly at night

Outfit Purpose: Weekend Play

Style Savvy: Wanting to stay comfy chic on my Saturday but had to change out of my outfit while filming later in the day. Two pieces to have in your wardrobe: 1) graphic cashmere sweater 2) long black cotton skirt. The sweater may end up being a trend item or seasonal if you find a graphic that can translate year after year in classic colors like my Aqua by Bloomingdales star sweater. My Brandy Melville skirt is so versatile, I can wear it year round depending on what I pair it with.

Personal Style: Winter Weekender

What’s Going On: It’s 11:00pm and I’m super exhausted. I wanted to write about this beautiful perspective I came to last night and this morning around my recent romance but I’m tired and wouldn’t do it justice. So, I will reserve this thought for tomorrow when I am rested because it’s a great learning lesson and inspirational. To make my blogging easier tonight, I’ll recap my day of filming the reality show The Romance at the Marriott Del Mar. It was a day of entering the new year with new intentions and letting go of something from last year.

One exercise we participated in was to write down a word that describes what we want or seek more of in our lives this year. My word was “Excellence” – thanks to that special someone I spent the past month with. When I first started dating him, he helped me sum up all the ideas into this very adjective. Then we wrote the word on an all white pillow with a marker. The next step, we had to sit on the pillow and absorb that word and it’s significance into our root chakra. We closed our eyes and meditated on it and visualized what that word looked like to us. Of course the first image that popped into my head was the man I recently fell in love with (unfortunately we are no longer as of yesterday morning). Then other visions of “Excellence” started manifesting in my head that included myself.

It was a day of compassion, good energy, filming with my TV posse, meeting new people, laughs, silliness, self-realization and finally letting the sadness over my breakup settle in as I cried on my drive home tonight.
