Outfit Purpose: Evening Out
Style Savvy: Rocking the LBD (little black dress) for a Friday evening. I wanted to downplay the “sexy” that this body-con dress tends to exude so I paired a chic collarless cream blazer, lots of finger swag (rings), gold clutch and simple ankle strap heels. This look is a perfect day-to-night option if you can’t get home to change.
Personal Style: Day-to-Night
What’s Going On: Typically I don’t feel like Fridays are the end of the week for me because many times I’m working on the weekend in some capacity. But today, I actually feel it’s worthy of a TGIF! I’m not sure why. I didn’t have any styling projects this week but I did have tedious loose ends that I needed to wrap up. I completed most of them except 4 items. Those 4 tasks will have to get done over the weekend and/or next week.
Recently a few unexpected things have been picking away at this scab I’ve been trying to heal for the past 3 weeks, metaphorically speaking. Just when I think I’m getting space and distance from something that has been painful, boom…there it is in front of my face or should I say Facebook newsfeed. And the sucky thing is, I can’t block these items from my Facebook for a reason. I wish I could share specifics but I can’t for now. Remember, I’m writing a book off this blog/column so you’ll be able to fill in the blanks when it gets published. What am I doing about this indirect scab picking? Nothing. I’ll leave it be and let it heal. Scratching at it would be a big mistake. TGIF!
