Style Savvy: I have to confess, I’m not a fan of this hot pink skirt I’m wearing. I bought it over a year ago and the last time I wore it was on my 6-year wedding anniversary trip to Belize in March 2013. The skirt stayed while my marriage dissolved. There’s nothing really “wrong” with this skirt either, I feel like it can be retooled. Meaning, dye it a blushy nude color and shortened to hit below my knees. Then it would be a skirt that I’ve been wanting since fall/winter 2013. Believe it or not, NEON is here to stay. I predicted this over a year ago. So if you bought something neon and you still own it, style it up and have a blast! FYI, the black halter I’m wearing is actually a body suit by one of my fave designers Suzanne Lay.

What’s Going On: Today marks 9 MONTHS of doing this challenge! I haven’t bought any fashion or fashion accessories for NINE freakin’ months! Holy shitballs Batman! Before I started this challenge publicly, I was unsure of my life, in shock, lost, devastated, depressed, heart broken, wanting answers, wanting to feel better, wanting to isolate, in tears and numb for about 2 months straight. Since I had no idea where I wanted to live and in no condition to make logical decisions, I moved to San Diego and in with my mom after my separation from my now ex-husband. After my two months of being zombie-like and binge shopping, my poor mother couldn’t take it anymore and said that I needed to “snap out of it” because it’s too depressing for her to watch.
I think it’s good for me to remember where I was. I literally took a bad situation and turned it into a positive. My life at this nine month marker is so huge, I had no clue it would be like this. I’m full of gratitude and joy and shake my head thinking, “Wow…if I can do this then anyone can. Keep it moving girl!” I only hope my story, my journey, my experience inspires other women who are going through a challenging time in their life. I love all my readers and followers! Thanks for your support.
