DAY 33: Shop My Closet Street Style

Mood: Happy

Weather: Hot and sunny

Outfit Purpose: Appointments and meetings

Style Savvy: Another way to wear your white tank/t-shirt and jeans combo is to go for a subtle graphic on your shirt instead of all white and pair with a statement necklace and loafers (I’m wearing Chanel circa 2007) or oxfords. Finish off your outfit with a blazer that has interesting details. The blazer I’m wearing is by Diane Von Furstenberg and what makes it timeless and receiving compliments year-after-year is the detail from the pinstripe lining and stitching inside to the buttons and loops on the outside.

Personal Style: Street Chic Girl on the Go

What’s Going On With Me: I’ve been in L.A. for three days now and it has flown by. I literally have been non-stop since I’ve been here. Today was probably my busiest day starting this morning by meeting a fashion illustrator friend for coffee at Joan’s on Third. Then I drove to the fashion district in downtown L.A. to visit another friend’s new showroom. This space is amazing and has a pop-up shop open to the public so stop by if you get a chance. It’s called The Park Showroom at 845 S. Los Angeles Street.

After my showroom visit and a chat with my PR gal for upcoming projects I drove back to the Westside to see another girlfriend and her two year old daughter. She had me laughing hysterically. She’s so precious and super darn cute, I’ll borrow her anytime!

I could’ve used a nap at this point in my day but I had a dinner party to get ready for that I was hosting and cooking. Yes, I can cook. I’m actually a pretty good chef. I just don’t do it that often. I had all my besties surrounding me tonight except one (she’s out of town). When we get together we are worse than men and really loud. I love it. Laughing, crying, smiling, sharing stories. I didn’t want the night to end. We all needed a night of feminine energy.

Thoughts: My relationships with my girlfriends and what we share is so powerful. I feel like I get my go-go juice when I’m with them. Sitting around the dinner table tonight and chatting for a few hours reminds me of when I was a little girl, my mom and my aunts doing the same thing (picture Joy Luck Club). The laughter is infectious and the love we have for each other fills my spirit. This is what I believe most of us want out of life – an emotional connection, laughter and love.
