Mood: Joyful
Weather: Blue skies, ocean breezes, SoCal sunshine
Outfit Purpose: Daytime Outing
Style Savvy: Mixing separates should be fun and exploratory. Get creative and really try different pieces that you wouldn’t normally pair together. I love pairing menswear with womenswear when I get the chance. This outfit I pieced together is actually a white with lavender pin striped men’s button up shirt (by JACHS NY) tied at the waist to give my body some shape and paired with a wrap around skirt by Single, nude strappy ankle heels from ShoeMint and a mix of jewelry (mixing gold, silver and gunmetal metals).
Personal Style: SoCal Street Chic
What’s Going On With Me: This morning was a hustle getting ready to leave for L.A. but this time I didn’t have to drive. SD Guy actually picked me up and accompanied me for this trip. What a relief, I could breathe and relax. And because I got a solid night’s rest, I was also in good spirits and chipper. No winey cranky baby crap going on with my mood.
I had an event to attend in Malibu for this new company Zindigo. Their business concept sounded interesting and after reading up on the company I was intrigued. It also helped that SD Guy encouraged that I go to this event. I did meet the owner of Zindigo which may turn into some interesting style work. The house off Malibu Road which was set directly on the beach ended up being a perfect venue for this event filled with other fashion bloggers and fashionistas. Thoughts: Contrary action is actually a positive. Try it you’d be surprise. I know for me there are many times where I think, “I don’t feel like doing that or going to that …” and I usually have no real reason. It’s because I’m comfortable isolating or doing “my” thing whatever that may be but then I miss out. For instance, my first initial reaction when I received the invite to this event in Malibu today was to just blow it off. Granted I’m in San Diego for now but still I would’ve missed out on some great networking and meeting new and interesting people.
