Mood: Motivated morning, midday crash, evening blues
Weather: Overcast, partial sun, cooler temp
Outfit Purpose: Stylist at your Service & Day-to-Night
Style Savvy: To give a strapless fitted dress a more day-to-night transition pair it with a denim jacket and roll up the sleeves. To glam up my Single Dress by Galina Sobolev, I paired one of my favorite high heels by Enzo Angiolini and kept my jewelry clean and simple. Because my dress and heels had a lot of detail, it’s best to keep everything else streamline and understated. If you want to make this dress/denim jacket pairing more rocker, add moto boots or buckled booties.
Personal Style: Street Glam
What’s Going On With Me: After speaking with one my besties tonight on the phone, she reminded me that I need to give myself a break (she’s a therapist). I was sharing with her how I still feel awful about my behavior on Friday towards SD Guy and his friend. Although I apologized and it “seems” fine, I still feel uneasy. She also mentioned that I did all the right things to amend the situation and also pointed out that it wasn’t all me as well. She said that she’s surprised I haven’t acted out at all during the past 3 months during my whole divorce/moving ordeal. I told her if Friday’s situation was the extent of “acting out” then hallelujah! We both started laughing. She also said that I’ve handled my situation with a lot of grace and dignity while moving forward. It’s so nice to have a close girlfriend remind me of these facts. Sometimes I can let myself go into that space of beating myself up internally. What good does that do? Nothing.
I know I was just in L.A. last week and the week before but I’m missing “home”. It didn’t help while flipping through the pages of my September Vogue today there were a lot of articles of places and people in L.A. Then a text message popped up from my gay boyfriend who asked me if I was coming up this Friday or Saturday. What? For some reason I had it in my head I was going to see him in 2 more weeks but then I looked on my calendar and wouldn’t you know, it’s this weekend. So, Friday it is.
Thoughts: I find this portion of lyrics from The Beatles song “Let it Be” resonates with me today.
Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
And when the brokenhearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted
There is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
