Style Savvy: If you don’t have at least one men’s white cotton button up shirt in your closet, go get one. This is a definite staple piece every woman should own. There are many versions of this shirt from a more crisp, refined and tailored look to a casual relaxed fit. I suggest getting both because you’ll find that they will be in heavy rotation in your outfit pairings. To soften up my man’s shirt I paired it with an H&M floral pencil skirt, Shoemint nude suede heels and belted the shirt to give my outfit more shape. All the jewelry I’m wearing is vintage except for two sterling silver rings by Buddha to Buddha, their mantra is to embrace life. Love that! More men’s shirt outfit pairings here & here.

What’s Going On With Me: I’m back in L.A.!!! I drove straight into the bustle of Friday chaos in downtown L.A. and made my stops. First stop, The Park Showroom to pull some looks for my weather/traffic gal on Wake Up San Diego who I’m styling next week. Then a little catch up with my PR gal and my last meeting with a friend and colleague for some work collaboration and charity stuff. Thank goodness all my appointments were in downtown L.A. and within 1.5 miles distance.
This weekend I’m staying with my gay boyfriend and his partner at their house up in the hills of Los Feliz. I miss them so much. It’s so good to see them and be able to stay in their amazing house for the weekend. I had so much to share with them about what’s been going on between work opportunities to the men in and out of my life. I love that I don’t need a filter when I’m talking with them. Well actually I don’t need one with my group of besties either. I think the girls are worse than men at times (wink).
Thoughts: Be grateful. When I start to get into “this sucks” or “why is this happening?” frame of mind, I have to pause, take a deep breath and get into gratitude. Thank goodness a group of my close girlfriends and I do a daily gratitude list that we email to everyone by replying to all. It’s so helpful to not only see what others are grateful for but to spark gratitude in myself. A gratitude list from someone will always chime in right when I need to be reminded to be grateful.
