Mood: Connected
Weather: Hot & Muggy … yuck
Outfit Purpose: Summer Fun & Stylist at Your Service
Style Savvy: When it’s hot and especially humid, all I want to wear is something lightweight, unfussy, flowy and of course stylishly chic. I’ve been wearing the heck out of my summer dresses by Single (my go-to dress line). And if you’re an avid reader or follower of my style savvy then you know how much I love pairing prints on prints like how I added my Sam Edelman lace up wedges to my dress in today’s outfit. I kept my accessories minimal with a few cuff bangles and a Marc Jacobs metallic mini clutch.
Personal Style: Street Chic
What’s Going On With Me: I was super excited to start my morning off meeting a good friend for breakfast who I haven’t seen in years. He use to live in L.A. and then moved to Shanghai six years ago. He’s such a go-getter, an amazing networker, super creative, inspiring and genuinely a nice guy. I love him! We met at Claire’s on Cedros in Solana Beach and that place was packed from the time we got there until the time we left. We were there for a good 2 hours and still busy. And I must say, my breakfast was pretty tasty too. Afterwards I met up with my new gal pal, ironically he connected the two of us together. I’m styling her for work, so I brought over some options for her to wear this week on-camera. She looked amazing in the dresses I pulled for her. I get so giddy when I this happens!
After trying on dresses, her friend stopped by to pick up her car and the battery is dead. The three of us are trying to figure out how to connect the jumper cables properly to jump start her car. We looked on YouTube, texted photos to a guy friend of theirs and still no luck, the car didn’t start. We kept wondering what pieces of metal were “grounded” in the engine for the black clip to latch onto. Their guy friend called, he said look for the alternator. “What the heck does that look like?” It was pretty hilarious. After a good 30-40 minutes we got the car running. So, if you ever need your car jump started … don’t call us, call AAA (wink).
Thoughts: The friend I had breakfast with used this line in an email introduction “Please connect and expand the circumference”… I LOVE this saying! It’s true. It’s all about connecting and helping others if you can. My friend also asked me at breakfast, “What’s your ULTIMATE goal in life?” It came back to helping others succeed in life, through charity and investing in other people’s ventures or dreams to help them grow and become successful. Sharing experience, strength and hope in small, medium or large doses.
