Style Savvy: It’s time to show some edge in my outfits that I’m putting together. Even though it’s hella hot, I’m ready for fall clothing! As we roll into fall, you’ll start to notice designers are mixing different fabric elements in pieces to lend more dimension and interest. This will alleviate some styling effort on your behalf. The flared leather/cotton/lycra skirt by Single I’m wearing can make a plain t-shirt and a denim jacket or boyfriend blazer look more unique. If the skirt was in one solid material, not so interesting. Get my savvy? With my skirt I got a bit eclectic and added a silk cami by DVF (super old and wish she still made these), linen jacket by Suzanne Lay (love this jacket), Zara ankle boots, H&M snake print clutch and a mix of costume, gold and silver jewelry.
Personal Style: Street Chic
What’s Going On With Me: The past couple of days I’ve been feeling like I want to chat with my ex-husband. I feel strong enough now to actually have a “How are you?” “I’m great” “What’s going on?” “Hope things are good” conversation with him. I texted him earlier this evening to see if he could chat. He was in place where he couldn’t verbally speak but could text message me. So, we had a nice exchange and caught up a bit with each other. I’m happy for him he’s got some good things going on which isn’t surprising. He’s always been great at keeping things going and moving forward.
He was happy for me as well with all my style stuff perculating. I do miss talking to him. We were with each other for NINE years. Not only were we husband and wife, but most importantly we were each other’s best friend. So to go from speaking everyday to no communication for almost 3 months is strange and uncomfortable. I’m glad we at least got to communicate via text message. I feel at peace.
Thoughts: “Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they’ve got a second. Give your dreams all you’ve got and you’ll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you.” – William James. I pulled this from the Facebook page of Living the Law of Attraction / The Secret. This is such a good reminder to go that extra mile and see if you can catch a second breath, a second charge, a second bit of faith or hope in whatever you’re pursuing in life.
