Style Savvy: Alright ladies, here’s a perfect example of how to do chic office attire. I love color blocking especially with bright colors and jeweled tones. Instead of matching a solid color top or bottom with white or black, try a complementary color instead. You can pull color block inspiration from a printed piece you already have in your closet. For instance, say you have a top that has a floral print pattern of pink, yellow, orange and white. I would pull from those colors and pair a solid yellow or orange top with a pink skirt or vice versa. Get it? If you’re absolutely not sure, send me a TWEET @savvynista.
Outfit Details: top and skirt from Zara, Derek Lam heels, Hermés Birkin bag, Noir panther crystal ring, Anne Klein panther chain bracelet, Banana Republic crystal necklace, classic Timex watch.
Personal Style: Office Chic
What’s Going On With Me: I’m gearing up for the next couple of weeks with work projects, publicity and traveling to L.A. a few times. Things are in motion but I feel a bit disorganized. I really need to sit down and plan my schedule out with more details, so I can visually see what the rest of my month truly looks like which includes goals I’m trying to reach. Although I’m a one woman show for now, at least I have amazing friends helping me out in various areas. I love you all, and you know who you are!
I’m also looking forward to going on a vacation mid-October (crossing my fingers). After all that I’ve been through since the month of May, it would be nice to getaway for a little bit. Not to mention I’ll be visiting someone that makes me smile and the destination isn’t too shabby either. I’ll still be working somewhat – blogging this column daily, taking outfit snaps and possible other on-camera stuff, possibly.
Today’s update seems drab to me but it’s 10pm here in San Diego and I’m tired. I’m going straight to bed after I’m done blogging. Oh…can you guess what flavor of Talenti Gelato I had tonight? Leave in comment section below and if you guess correctly, you just might get a little gifty.
Thoughts: Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Saw this posted on Facebook the other day. Boy do I relate to that statement so much right now. I finally see the light and greatness ahead which is inspiring but I had to weed through all the muck (still weeding through a tinsy bit). I always tell my friends to hang in there. Of course I preface it by saying I know it’s easier said than done. Seriously, as cliché as it may be anyone can make lemonade out of really sour lemons.

Not Sea Salt (I like my sweets … sweet) but I do like the Pistachio one too, wasn’t that one either. AND thank you for your lovely comments on my blog! You sound like a fun gal especially if you love Single dresses! I’d love to meet you and your girlfriends but as you can read from my blog “no shopping for a year!” but I love window shopping and love styling people. My email is [email protected]. XO, M
Sea Salt Caramel? Also love the Pistachio. Whatever flavor it was, I hope you indulged and enjoyed! Stumbled across your blog while google searching Mike Sam and Single dress line. Met mike a few months ago at a “ladies shopping night” in a Downtown LA loft. I think I left with 5 dresses?! LOL Needless to say, I’ve received countless compliments…so my roommate and I are doing a shopping afternoon with as many of our lovely girlfriends dropping in as possible! We are about two blocks from the Zoo on Park, if you’d like to stop by. I’ll send you info in the next day or so. Love your tips and style! Warmly, Arlene
