Mood: Optimistic
Weather: Still hot
Purpose: Summer Sunday date night look.
Style Savvy: This is a perfect example of color blocking with stripes and using metallics as accents. From time to time, I do like to show a little bit of skin especially during warm summer days. If you’re going to show some leg and stomach make sure that the proportions are complementary to your shape. Ladies, you know when you’re showing way too much skin to the point of being skanky not savvy. Because this La Rok sweater top can show a lot of midriff, I paired it with a high waisted BCBG Max Azria maxi skirt to give the elusion of baring a lot of skin. I kept the accessories fairly minimal with a couple of cuff bracelets, chandelier earrings, Gucci heels (circa 2007) and a patent leather Louis Vuitton mini handbag (circa 2008).
Personal Style: This outfit resonates with my sensual side while still staying chic and modern.
What’s Going On With Me: Insomnia badly! I didn’t go to bed until 6am! I still have a lot running through my head and can’t switch it off unfortunately. AND yes, I’ve been exercising somewhat … I guess I can step that up a notch. It also doesn’t help that I haven’t had “relations” in many months and I’m feeling the urge.
Thoughts: So how long does one wait to go on a date or have a fun little fling after a divorce and you weren’t the one that wanted to split up? I’ve been pondering this the past few days. For me, when I’m clear of my intentions then I’m ready. At this moment I feel that I can handle something light hearted, playful with no strings attached. Hey! I’m still young and I need to use it while I got it, right? Even though I’ve gone through heart break, sadness and the shock of how fast my divorce came, I’m still a believer in love and companionship. This experience hasn’t made me bitter, it just allowed me to move to a new chapter in my life which has so many unknown possibilities. In this next phase of my life, I want to have as much fun as possible, embrace my freedom, stay authentic, laugh everyday and smile until my cheeks hurt.
