Beauty Tuesday: Concealers and Dry Oils

It’s a given, style is my main gig but I love me some beauty products. When I find something I can’t live without, it becomes a staple in my beauty collection. Just like having staple pieces in my wardrobe. The newest staples in my cabinet are Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse France’s leading beauty oil and J.R. Watkins Body Oil Mist in coconut milk and honey. The product I’m sampling currently is Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir.

How I use Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse:

It states that it’s a multi-usage dry oil, but I use it on my face only. I apply it on the driest parts of my face before applying my makeup. It gives my skin that dewy glowy look that I love. It’s made using six precious plant oils (Macadamia, Hazelnut, Borage, Sweet Almond, Camellia and St. John’s Wort) and has a nice light scent. I love how this dry oil doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy and it gives it that dewy glow that I’ve been trying to master a la J.Lo.

How I use J.R. Watkins Body Oil Mist:

After showering if I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to do the full body lotion rub down, I opt for this oil mist which is easy to spray all over and gives my body the silkiness it needs for the day. If I shower or bathe at night, I take full advantage of my time and layer a body cream first then spray on the body oil mist afterwards. Your skin will thank you and your significant other will love it too.

My Review on Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir:

First of all, I love that one can order a sample of the concealer to try the color and they throw in 2 other colors “just in case”, one shade lighter and darker. It costs $3 for this sample pack and you receive it within a few days. The website is simple, informative and defines colors so you can decide which might work for you. When I got my sample pack in the mail I couldn’t wait to try it out.

The concealer is on the more liquid side but don’t let that fool you. A little goes a LONG way, I’m not kidding. Unfortunately, I’ve been plagued with dark circles and always on the hunt for a great concealer. When I tried this concealer on after I applied my eye cream, I was impressed. I loved the way it looked. Another time I tried this concealer on after I dabbed a few dots of Nuxe Huile dry oil around my eyes, and loved the concealer even better! Onomie also sent a sample of their Illuminating Eye Treatment which I applied on top of the concealer. The skin around my eyes appeared brighter and my dark circles were hidden.

A more permanent solution to combating dark circles is to get Restylane injections once a year. I’ve done it and it works. Just make sure to go to someone who knows what they’re doing.
