Chanel Inspired Pattern Mix

Mixing and matching colors and patterns with separates can be tricky. I hope this particular style post lends some savvy and creativity in pattern playing with your day-to-day dressing. Personally, I have to be somewhat practical most days for what I put on my body, I’m sure you can relate. BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish too!

For this Chanel-esque outfit, I paired a v-neck t-shirt with white linen pants (lined inside) and then had fun playing with patterns and textures with my “add-ons” (i.e., belt, shoes, bag, jacket, etc). One trick to pulling off successful color/pattern mixing is staying within the same color family. Like how I used my clutch to pick up the hot pink trim in my jacket and how the black stones in my jewelry compliment my pants, belt and shoes.

I know it’s hard when you’re trying clothes on at home with nobody sensible to answer your question, “Does this look okay?” The man in the house will typically say, “yes” but he doesn’t know, unless you’ve got a metro sexual on-site. P.S. I had to get savvy with my outfit photos because I don’t always have someone readily available to take snaps of me, so I use mirrors and my handy dandy iPhone. Hence, the iPhone making appearances in my pics.
