Although I do enjoy the sunny and warm coastal weather of Southern California, it’s nice when there’s a feeling of seasons changing. At this moment I’m longing for the arrival of Fall where color palettes in nature and fashion transition to autumn hues. Neutrals with richer tones come into play like heather grey, burgundy, mustard, charcoal, olive and peppercorn. This year also marks the 25-year anniversary of the movie When Harry Met Sally, one of my favorite romantic comedies of all time. So what does this movie have to do with Fall and style?
The scene when Meg Ryan strolls through Central Park with Billy Crystal during a quintessential New York autumn day, captures the essence and inspiration for one of this Fall’s style trends – women wearing men’s inspired fashion. Ryan’s ensemble shows how chic and stylish women can rock menswear in a feminine way.
To pull off the menswear look, try these items:
- Men’s button down long-sleeve shirt
- Vest
- Messenger bag
- Boyfriend or double breasted blazer
- Trousers, tuxedo pant or fitted/cigarette pant
- Loafers and Oxfords
