Mood: Diligent
Weather: Warm & Sunny … on a roll with the good weather
Outfit Purpose: Dinner Date
Style Savvy: If I had my choice of wearing a uniform everyday, it would be a pair of jeans, t-shirt, blazer and high heels. I do wear this ensemble quite a bit (I own a lot of blazers and blazerish jackets). This is a classic look you can never go wrong with (unless your fits are off). Somedays I want to sparkle and I don’t care if it’s during the daylight hours. Give me a tuxedo sequined jacket and I’m solid. This one by Zara paired nicely with my Helmut Lang tank and J. Brand boyfriend jeans accessorized with Mango ankle strap heels, Banana Republic tassle necklace, and a vintage beaded clutch.
Personal Style: Everyday Effortless Chic
What’s Going On With Me: I’ve made it a whole month, 30 Days of shopping my closet!! It seems like it went by fast but also like I’ve been doing this forever. And, I literally haven’t left my desk all day except to get something to eat, take bathroom breaks and shower. When it rains it pours and I’m super grateful that I got slammed with some amazing projects. I thought I was going to L.A. today but I couldn’t leave with all this work, so I’m going tomorrow. It’s almost 11pm as I’m writing this and I’d like to just curl up in bed and watch television. Oh wow, I just got interrupted by an Amber Alert that buzzed on my iPhone. I’ve never seen this before, so trippy.
Okay, so I finally went out on a date last night. Yes, like a real date which was unexpected actually. It felt great. I’m so in the moment and not worrying about anything in my future. It’s such a relief. Although I’m living somewhat carefree I’m honest about where I’m at. It’s a liberating but slightly uncomfortable space to be in. I’ve been with the same man (my ex-husband) for so many years that I don’t really know what the rules are for dating now. Maybe they’re the same, who knows and quite frankly I don’t care. Like I’ve said in my previous posts, I’m just living life and having fun.
Thoughts: I saw this quote floating around the Internet the other day … Never be afraid to start over, it’s a new chance to rebuild what you want. That’s exactly what I’m doing. It is scary when you think about the whole picture but don’t do that to yourself. If you’re making a huge change in your life (career, relationship, move, etc.) focus on what’s in front of you for today, it will be less overwhelming and you’ll actually get more things accomplished.
