Mood: Anxious
Weather: Breezy, blue skies, warm and sunny
Outfit Purpose: Fashion Preview & Dinner
Style Savvy: I acquired this Anna Sui dress from a very fashionable girlfriend of mine who worked for Ms. Sui for many, many years. This dress is tailored to perfection and can be worn during the day casually or dressed up for the night. Because it incorporates timeless color palettes and embroidery, it’s a piece that one can wear decade after decade.
Personal Style: Boho Chic
What’s Going On With Me: Today I was feeling a bit anxious. I think it’s because I’m back in Santa Monica and Los Angeles for a few days and it’s bringing up all the feelings I have around my husband not wanting to be married anymore. I never know if I’m going to run into him and then how will I react or not react. It’s just uncomfortable.
You think my day would excite me because I’ve got amazing things percolating with my career as a style blogger/writer and fashion expert. Oh and my evening! Thanks to one of my besties who’s also a stylist, we attended a private fashion preview at Bloomingdales in Century City for Rachel Zoe’s fall collection. We even got to chat with Rachel and her hubby Rodger. I mainly talked about vintage jewelry because I’m obsessed with it and I love RZ’s new pieces.
Thoughts: When I start to get anxious, agitated or feel like I’m going to lose my lunch … I call or text someone I trust that can talk me down and give me perspective or an ear to listen. I know I wrote about humility in my past blog post but this has come up again today. I need to stay grounded and humble to keep moving forward and appreciate all that I have. It helps to have great friends and family for the support. And they can only truly be a support if I stay humble and ask for help or guidance.
