LWD aka Little White Dress for all Your Bride-to-Be Occasions

When I started looking for a wedding dress I thought when I found the one, I was done with dress shopping. Little did I know, I needed an LWD aka Little White Dress. My girlfriends kept asking me if I’m going to get a dress for my reception. I really didn’t plan on it but I guess that makes sense.

It’s already hard enough finding the perfect wedding gown, now I need a wedding reception dress as well. Trying to find one that matches the theme and style of my wedding dress I already have hanging in my closet can be challenging.

One thing I knew for sure, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on my reception dress. Also, I might want to wear it again for another occasion if it’s appropriate.

A few friends who recently got married told me to go to David’s Bridal and look at their dresses. I was happy to see that they have so many affordable options that are stylish and chic. Thank goodness David’s Bridal carries more than just wedding dresses.

My wedding vibe is romantic in a garden party setting. Not stuffy. Intimate and outdoors. Which is why I chose this strapless embroidered lace overlay, high/low dress.

David’s Bridal asked if I needed accessories. Good thing because I didn’t even think about my shoes yet. How convenient to get everything I need in one place which means less stress.

I do need a pair of shoes which can be challenging because I’m pretty picky about shoes. Perusing their shoes, I saw that they carry Blue by Betsey Johnson collection made especially for weddings. I’m dying over my open-toe, see through embroidered lace heels! Definitely size up 1/2 size.

My tip for your LWD is to think of “her” as the fun, flirty sister to your wedding gown. You want to be comfortable and have fun, especially during your reception. You don’t want to worry about spilling on your dress or staining it. And if you’re going to dance the night away, a dress that doesn’t drag all over the dance floor is the best option. Hence the LWD.
