Style Savvy
Taking a cue from my Shop My Closet Challenge and restyling pieces I already own to wear this Fall. Here’s a breakdown:
- Coral top from Target bought Spring 2018
- Black Jeans from Mango bought last Fall 2017
- Leopard cowhide ankle boots Christmas 2017
The only new thing I’m wearing is my layered Ettika necklace from my Fall Box of Style (see HERE). The reason why my pieces are still relevant this season… for starters, black jeans, enough said. Coral top though? Yes it’s a spring color but since it’s in the orange/red family which are major colors for Fall, it works.
Because my top is a solid color (not in a print) and a muted coral tone, it mixes well with other fall colors. Click HERE for my Fall Color Trend report. The style of my top still plays nicely to the ruffle trends we’re seeing but who knows next year, these sleeves could look dated.
My ankle boots are a classic style in a neutral leopard print. Let’s be clear here, leopard print is a HUGE trend right now but it’s ALWAYS on trend. Buy smart with pieces in classic colors and prints that way you can wear year-after-year.
What’s Going On
Although Fall is one of my favorite seasons aside from Spring, I tend to get reflective and introspective during this season. I believe it’s because I had a few tragedies happen during this time of year. So it still sticks to my bones even though I’ve worked through it. The way I take care of myself and my feelings is to get outside and enjoy nature. When I’m feeling melancholy, I can revert to isolation. This isn’t always the healthiest and sometimes keeps me in my funk longer. So I do the opposite and get outside.
I’ll also make plans to spend more time with my friends and family. This helps me to keep moving forward and not get paralyzed with work, business and my personal life.
I polled my followers on my Insta Stories last week and many of you said you love seeing me restyle pieces different ways, how I’m still shopping my closet and my skincare reviews.
